Guidance

Four Components of MBS Guidance Program

1. Character Education Curriculum: Provides character education content in a systematic way to all students addressing topics such as values, self-esteem development, decision-making, conflict resolution skills, risky behavior prevention, health, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and assertiveness.  Please visit the Character Education Curriculum website for further understanding on how it is delivered
2. College and Career Guidance: Assists students in the process of choosing and applying to national and international universities and colleges. Please visit the College and Career Guidance website to obtain further information and access resources.

3. Responsive Services: Addresses the immediate concerns of students to give emotional and psychological support. This includes crisis intervention and conflict resolution. If the student needs regular and systematic intervention he/she will be referred to external professionals.

4. System Support: Includes program, staff and campus activities and services.

Counselor’s Philosophy
The MBS counselor seeks to help all students through a comprehensive, systematically delivered
guidance program. At the same time, he/she respects each student, strives to understand each
student’s background and the factors that are influencing his/her present circumstances, and
maintains optimism about each student’s future.
